Add or remove VAT
To add VAT, multiply the net amount by rate / 100 and add the result to net. To remove VAT, divide gross by (1 + rate / 100); VAT is gross minus net. At 21%, net 100 gives VAT 21 and gross 121. Removing 21% from gross 121 returns net 100.
Use your own rate
A 0% rate leaves net and gross equal. Decimal rates and amounts are supported. The chosen rate is an input, not a recommendation: the calculator does not determine exemptions, applicable rates, reporting rules or jurisdiction-specific rounding.
