What is QR code error correction?

Error correction allows a QR code to remain readable when part of the code is damaged or obscured. Higher levels provide more redundancy but can produce a denser QR code.

Keep good contrast

For reliable scanning, use a dark QR code on a light background. Low-contrast color combinations can make QR codes harder for cameras to read.

Private browser-based generation

Your QR code is created locally in your browser. The text or URL you enter does not need to be uploaded to HandyKitz.

Practical example

A QR code stores the text you enter. Use a complete website address for a link and test the downloaded image with a scanner before printing it.

Enter https://example.com/menu, choose a 512 × 512 image and keep dark code squares on a light background. Scanning should offer that exact menu address.

Frequently asked questions

Will my QR code expire?

The generated PNG contains the entered text directly, without a HandyKitz redirect. The image does not expire, but a destination website can change or disappear.

Can I change the destination after printing the code?

Not in the already printed image. Generate and print a new code, or manage changes at a redirect URL you control.

Why can a long message fail to generate?

QR capacity depends on content length, encoding and error correction. Shorten the message; increasing the image size alone does not increase encoded capacity.
